These are another idea I’ve had in my head for a while, ceramic match pots to go with all my lovely candles. I asked Wendy Calder if she would have a go at making me some, and she created these beautiful beehive style match pots. I love their shape and colour. Each one has a striking plate on the bottom. These pots are thrown on the wheel with red earthenware clay, and grooves are added with a wooden rib. Finally they are dipped in an eggshell glaze and fired to 1160.
Unfortunately I can’t supply the matches as well with online orders as it is prohibited to post matches, but if you order for collection or come in to my Bristol shop you can buy one with matches too.
