A handmade ceramic match pot by Bristol ceramicist Wendy Calder, thrown on the wheel in red earthenware clay with a distinctive beehive shape and wooden-rib grooves, then dipped in an eggshell glaze and fired to 1160°C. Each pot has a striking plate built into the base, so you can light candles or the fire without hunting for a matchbox.
Measuring 9cm high by 7cm wide, it’s sized to sit neatly on a mantelpiece or coffee table beside your favourite candle. Please note that matches themselves can’t be included with online orders due to postal restrictions — but if you order for collection, or visit the Bristol shop in person, a box of matches can be added.
These make a lovely little gift alongside a candle for birthdays, housewarmings, or Christmas.
