I love Nicola’s ceramic creatures, oak leaves and acorns and for spring 2022, I wanted to add these amazing mushrooms too. They are really large and so detailed, people often think they are made of wood until they feel the weight when they pick them up. These set of 3 mushrooms look great stuck straight into the earth amongst the flowers – in your flower bed, in a planter or even in a large plant pot indoors to add some pollinators to your home! They are made from high fired stoneware ceramic with an iron oxide finish which makes them suitable for inside or outside! They are attached to a stainless steel rod so that they can go in the ground and you can enjoy them for years to come. The ceramic is high fired stoneware which makes them frost proof too! Each one is completely unique as they are made by hand.
These mushrooms are made from stoneware clay and decorated with an oxide. Each piece of clay is rolled and shaped by hand, making each one utterly unique. Nicola works from photographs of fungi and recreates the details in the clay; each twist of the stalk and tear of the top, clay is the perfect material to use to sculpt these pieces. She adds her own personal touch to each one too. The inspiration for these mushrooms came from always being fascinated by seeing wild ones everywhere whilst out walking. All of Nicola’s work is inspired by her love of walking and exploring and the gems that nature gives to us.
Set of 3 separate mushrooms.
Sizes (including steel rod): Largest mushroom is 19cm long, the medium one is 16cm long and the smaller one is 14cm long.
Please note: colour and size may vary slightly on each.
