When I discovered Sarah’s beautiful wildflower embroidery, there were a few designs that I knew would be perfect for my collection and this cow parsley one was one of them. I am a huge lover of cow parsley as you will see throughout my collection and this is Sarah’s most popular design too. This soft linen pouch features three large cow parsley stems and is freehand machine embroidered using two contrasting green threads both of which sit beautifully against the pale green colour of the linen fabric. Beautifully made and hand-finished, this pouch is cut to a slim, flat silhouette as is great to keep everyday essentials in place and protected. Lined with simple plain green cotton lawn fabric, this pouch is beautifully simple and elegant.
Sarah works in a wooden cabin in her large garden in the beautiful countryside of the Sussex Weald where I grew up. Her work is heavily influenced by the natural environment that surrounds her, including wild and garden flowers. She has been freehand machine sewing for almost 30 years, creating beautiful designs using this wonderful technique of ‘drawing with thread’. Her embroidery can be found on greetings cards, pouches and linen aprons as well as framed hoop artwork for the home.
Measurements are approx. 18cm x 12cm. Please note that as each embroidery is stitched freehand the design that you receive may differ slightly from the image shown. This gives each pouch a unique quality.
