Plantable Father’s Day Card

I love these wildflower cards by Sophie of Loop Loop Crafts! I’ve always felt bad about throwing birthday cards and greetings cards in recycling and I have drawers full of old cards that I can’t bear to throw away, so I think the idea of enjoying a card and then being able to grow wildflowers from it, is absolutely brilliant! These beautiful cards are designed by Sophie in Brighton and made from 100% recycled materials which are embedded with wildflower seeds.

This lovely plantable Father’s Day features a beautiful rhino illustration with the words: “I love you Dad and that’s all rhino” in handwritten font on the front. It’s a gift that will keep on giving to both the person you send it too and to the bees, butterflies and insects too. This plantable card is made from 100% recycled materials and is embedded with 11 varieties of British perennial wildflowers. Once your loved one has enjoyed the lovely message you have sent them, they can plant the seed card afterwards to grow a patch of bright flowers! It’s good for us and it’s great for the bees and butterflies too.

The image is drawn and painted by Sophie with watercolours and altered using photoshop to make bright illustrations. The cards are printed with edible inks so the inks don’t harm the soil once it’s planted. Full instructions are on the back of the card. As these cards are handmade, the colour may vary slightly from the card shown in the photo.
