I have spent a lot of time looking for the right recycled wool picnic rugs. It was important to me that they were made by a small company rather than a big commercial mill and that they were made from recycled redundant yarn. I’ve finally found the perfect mother and daughter company that take the leftover yarns from their local textile mill every week that used to go into landfill, and turn them into rugs, blankets and other homewares. They hand cut and finish each one themselves. These are all available in very small batches and each time I will get slightly different colours and designs, but that’s part of what I love about them. I’ve started with these two colourways which I’ve called Meadow (left) and Bloom (right).
Size: 150 x 120cm.
Material: 80% redundant wool, 20% mixed fibre
Care: Cool wool wash at 30 degrees, short spin, don’t wring and do not tumble dry.
