My great friend Jess hand engraves these beautiful Peacock butterflies onto clear glass frames. She etches the glass using a point engraving technique whereby she draws the illustration on to the surface of the glass using a drill. Each piece is entirely unique. Her glass engravings are framed in metal using the Tiffany technique of copper foil and lead solder. She then adds a thin sage green satin ribbon to hang them with.
Jess takes her inspiration from the ephemeral beauty of nature for her illustrations. Butterflies are a symbol of rebirth and transformation and make an ideal gift for a birthday or as a good luck present for someone starting a new adventure. Perfect to hang from windows or in front of a mirror and give as a gift to someone special.
