Another new maker to my shop is Jodie of Yellow Feather creations – a local mum who recently rediscovered her love of sketching nature.
Jodie says about her work that she finds peace and solace while surrounded by nature, walking and sketching. She can often be found wandering in fields or pausing to admire tiny details like unfurled leaves or minibeasts making their homes in log piles and hedgerows, and it is this desire to connect with nature that inspires her work. Each piece is produced with a deep desire to bring a little of our beautiful natural world into the homes of others.
Her illustrations are a combination of sketch studies completed during my wanderings worked up in detail , studies of photographs she takes and images found online. She works predominantly with pen and ink to create compositions that celebrate British wildlife and wild flowers.
Her original pieces are scanned and delivered to a local printer where they are reproduced using high quality archival inks on beautiful textured art papers. Some illustrations are used to create greetings cards and are printed on recycled card.
Available in standard A4 or A3 size, board backed and wrapped in eco friendly cello wrap.
