A beautiful, smokey grey, saggar fired dimple tumbler by Dartmoor-based artist Alison West, made from durable Cornish stoneware clay with a distinctive thumbprint dimple detail reminiscent of the moon’s surface. Alison uses a saggar firing technique, placing pots inside a gas kiln within a container combined with locally sourced combustible materials such as pine cones, beech nuts, grasses, and seaweed.
As the kiln fires, these materials release vapours that create unique, unpredictable natural patterns on the surface of each piece, making every beaker one of a kind. The high-fired pottery is sealed with a non-toxic, food-safe, water-based sealer, making it waterproof, stain-resistant, and dishwasher-proof.
Measuring approximately H8cm x W8cm. Only a very limited number of these are stocked.
