I have stocked Becca’s beautiful nature-inspired linocut prints and cards in my Bristol shop since I opened last year. And when I saw this new bumblebee design that she had planned for tea towels, I wanted to add it to my online shop too. These beautiful 100% unbleached organic cotton tea towels are professionally printed in the UK to reproduce Becca’s original Social Bumblebees of Great Britain linocut print.
Printed and finished in the UK on 100% unbleached organic cotton, with a hanging loop, and individually wrapped with a simple, recycled paper belly band, packed and posted plastic free. Size: 45cm x 75cm
The tea towel features queens of all 16 UK social bumblebee species, along with some of the species’ favourite wildflowers. There are 22 surviving species of bumblebee in the UK, 16 of which live in social, family colonies of a queen and female workers – a bit like honeybees, but without the honeycomb or the honey. Of these species, seven are widespread across the UK, and the rest are either localised or rare, and at risk of extinction due to loss of habitat. The Bumblebee Conservation Trust is actively working to raise awareness of the issues facing bumblebees, ways we can help them, and are actively working to conserve them.
**10% of the sales from these tea towels goes to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust via Work For Good **
